Deacon News
The Newsletter of the Diaconal Community of the Davenport Diocese. Thirteen Men Installed as Lectors
The thirteen men in formation for the diaconate were installed as Lectors on Sunday, July 10, at St. Mary in Riverside. The men and their wives had spent Saturday on retreat in preparation for the Rite. The retreat master, Fr. Brendan Moss, OSB, a Benedictine of St. Meinrad Archabbey, encouraged those gathered to spend time praying the scriptures, so as to be doers and not just hearers of the word.
Are You Being Called to the Diaconate?
For those who might be interested in exploring a vocation to the diaconate, please note that we are scheduled to begin the inquiry process for our next deacon formation class, Class VII, in the summer and fall of 2011. The schedule of days is now posted!
