Marriage Tribunal

  • Assist those seeking peace of mind regarding former marriage situations, or those wishing to clarify their eligibility for marriage in the Church, through the annulment process

  • Review prenuptial files and provide any necessary dispensations or permissions

  • Interpret and uphold Church law

 

Victim Assistance Ministry

  • Employ Victim Assistance Coordinator.  She is the point of contact for the victim. 

  • Primary Purpose: to serve those who have been directly sexually abused by clergy

  • Serves all victims: those directly abused, their families, the laity and the clergy

  • Provide Victim Assistance Program Speaker’s Panel: Within the last two years the panel has presented to various parishes.  Some of its professional members will speak at the Diocesan Youth Rally in October.

  • Facilitate a support group: is open to anyone who has been sexually abused

  • Provide indirect services, financially, such as direct counseling, medications, etc. as determined and monitored by the Victim Assistance Coordinator

 

Celebrating and Sharing

The Bishop(s) celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation for parish youth

 

Bishop Amos confers the sacrament of Holy Orders for deacons and priests

 

Consult with parishes regarding liturgy, worship, church renovations and building projects through the Director of Liturgy

 

Resource and educate clergy, parish leaders, and RCIA facilitators through the monthly newsletter, LiturgyNotes

 

Offer diocesan Masses, such as, 50th Wedding Anniversary of married couples (October) and the Chrism Mass (week prior to Holy Week)

Teaching and Training

Catholic Schools and Religious Education

  • Employ one Superintendent for all the Catholic schools in the Diocese

  • Design and implement curriculum for all Catholic schools

  • Train adults for Protecting God’s Children Program (child safety)

  • Employ staff to assist parishes and schools with faith formation (religious education) for youth

  • Provide annual rallies for junior and senior high youth to learn about their Catholic faith.  Over 1000 youth participate.

  • Employ staff to assist parishes with adult faith formation

  • Provide sessions for adults to become leaders in their parishes, Ministry Formation Program

Promote and educate parishioners on the stewardship way of life
