The Year of Paul
Pope Benedict XVI has announced that the Church will observe the 2000th anniversary of the birth of Saint Paul of Tarsus, beginning on June 29, 2008 and continuing through June 29, 2009. Here are some resources to help you with your observation of this special year:
The Basilica of St. Paul Outside-the-Walls
Baptismal Formula
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has reminded us that baptism must use the traditional Trinitarian formula (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). "Baptisms" attempted using other formulas are invalid. Detailed news stories are available on the Catholic News Service website: CDF-Baptism and Baptism Reaction. The actual response by the CDF is found on the Vatican website.
RCIA Google Group Being Formed
Those involved in RCIA ministry are invited to join an e-mail listserv organized by the Office of Liturgy and the Office of Communications at the chancery. If you are interested in networking with others who minister in the RCIA please e-mail the Director of Liturgy.
