Walking Together in Faith

Responding to God's unique call in our lives, we walk together in faith as one Catholic community by witnessing the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of Southeastern Iowa.

MISSION

Guided by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, our mission as the Diocese of Davenport is to foster the spiritual growth, development and well-being of the people of Southeastern Iowa.

Calling forth the gifts and talents of all the baptized, we live, celebrate and pass on the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.

The Bishop, as Shepherd, oversees the utilization of these gifts and talents in parishes, deaneries and the Pastoral Office of the Diocese of Davenport.

The Holy Spirit empowers us as a Eucharistic people to:

• Offer our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving to God by our liturgical worship.
• Encourage the people of God to embrace stewardship as a way of life.
• Live with gospel values as our guiding light for all of our decision-making.
• Act with charity and justice in promoting the common good for our communities.
• Make effective and efficient use of our physical and financial resources.
• Promote meaningful communication within the Church and the public we serve.
• Empower parish and deanery leaders through the principle of subsidiarity.
• Foster ongoing conversion, renewal and life long faith formation.
