Justice and Peace Advocacy Team, JPAT |
With the assistance
of Catholic Relief Services, the Dioceses has formed a Justice
and Peace Advocacy Team (JPAT) to provide a voice for the poor
and disenfranchised to our state and federal legislators.
Mission: “Answering God’s call,
and nourished by the Holy Spirit, the
Justice and Peace Advocacy
Team, JPAT will
address the root causes of poverty and injustice by educating
and engaging people within the Diocese of Davenport to advocate
for sustainable change locally and globally.”

Operation Rice Bowl Collection Funds:

Please submit all Operation Rice Bowl funds to the Finance
Office by May 31.
The 25% local share grants will be decided on June 28 and we
would like to have a full accounting of the 2012 Operation Rice
Bowl campaign.
Please be sure to clearly mark that the funds are for Operation
Rice Bowl. If you have any questions please contact Kathy McCoy

Pacem in Terris Award Ceremony
|
The Pacem in Terris Peace and Freedom
Award was created in 1964 by the Davenport Catholic Interracial
Council. An Award is presented by the Diocese in
collaboration with other organization to honor a person for
their achievements in peace and justice, not only in their
country but in the world.

The Iowa
Institute for Social Action (IISA) is a leadership training
event for people of faith residing in the four Catholic dioceses
in Iowa

providing general care of and assistance to children who are in
special need. Applicants are to be located with in the 22
counties of the Diocese of Davenport or serve children within
the Diocese of Davenport.
