The Office of Faith Formation is partnering with Liturgy Training Publications to offer Virtual Workshops from January - March 2021.
Different from a standard webinar, an LTP Virtual Workshop offers an interactive classroom style session that is reminiscent of a gathered workshop.
Virtual Workshops begin with prayer and then have a short presentation. After the presentation, participants answer discussion questions posed by the presenter, through a written chat box, and engage one another in the discussion questions. Finally, the presenters reflect on what they see in the responses. There are usually around 3 of these cycles in each session.
These Virtual Workshops utilize the Adobe Connect platform where microphones and webcams are not required of participants. Adobe Connect can be accessed via computer, tablet or phone.
Save by registering for all six workshops, all three morning workshops or all three evening workshops!

St. John Paul II states that “catechesis is intrinsically linked with the whole of liturgical and sacramental activity” of the parish. Participants in this session will specifically explore how catechists can/must echo their faith as liturgical disciples who gather weekly at Eucharist and are then sent forth in mission.
In this Virtual Workshop, we will take the time to examine the characteristics of a strong and vibrant parish. As leaders in our parish communities, let us gather to reflect on ways that will form and encourage all the baptized to serve as priest, prophet, and king in 2021 and beyond.
In this Virtual Workshop, we will examine successful strategies for inviting teens to greater participation in the liturgy through regular reflection on the Gospel message. Furthermore, we will explore how teens become parish leaders by inviting them to serve as liturgical ministers for the community.
A strong sense of hospitality is needed in all aspects of parish life – at our liturgical and sacramental celebrations, in our faith formation efforts, and all ministerial outreach. Pope Francis states that “the Church must be a place of mercy freely given, where everyone can feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live the good life of the Gospel.” In this workshop, we will reflect on best practices and address common obstacles in the ways our parishes extend hospitality to members and strangers.
In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, we learn that “[the liturgy is] the privileged place for catechizing the People of God” (1074). This Virtual Workshop explores the ways in which your parish can collaborate with parents, grandparents, and guardians to help ensure that participation in Sunday Mass becomes a family priority now, whether they are attending in person or virtually and as we look ahead to when we all rejoin the gathered assembly.
In The Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis has shared with us his vision of an evangelizing community. In this Virtual Workshop, we will take the time to explore how faith formation and liturgy in the parish can form disciples that are well-equipped and energized to be Christ’s witnesses in the world.
