Name Changed: Food Resource Bank has change it's name to Growing Hope Globally.
Growing Hope Globally is a Christian, non-profit ecumenical organization committed to fighting hunger overseas. 4 out of 5 of the world's poor live in rural areas and depend on farming to feed thier families. Growing hope Globally helps subsistence farmers grow thier own food and earn an income. With their unique Growing Project model, U.S. farmers work with their churches and surrounding communities to become part of the solution - raising money and awareness to end world hunger. Profits from growing projects are funneled through religious based organizations, such as CRS, with other outreach to farmers in other lands to foster better agriculture where it is needed most. This program has recruited Iowa Farmers who are helping crop and livestock farmers to better manage natural recources and improve their farming techniques. See https://www.growinghopeglobally.org/impact/ for impact statements by an Elvira, IA farmer and others about the program.
More than 820 million people in this world do not have enough to eat. 4 out of 5 of the world's poor live in rural areas and depend on farming to feed their families. We believe in a world of plenty, no person should go hungry. For 20+ years we have been helping farmers, churches, and rural communities respond.
