"The Parish as Initiating Community"

On Saturday, August 3^rd, Diana Macalintal from Team RCIA will present on “A Deeper Look at RCIA 75”.  This paragraph of the RCIA is our guiding principle for the Period of the Catechumenate and calls for us to journey with individuals in more ways than just word and catechesis.  Through this workshop, we will explore what it means to form catechumens and candidates in word, worship, community and witness.  The workshop runs from 8:30AM-4PM.  Cost is $35 for registrations received by July 14 ^th and $40 for those received after that date. 
 
On Sunday, August 4^th, Michael Ruzicki from Liturgy Training Publications will present on “RCIA Adapted for Children.”  Recognizing that unbaptized children of catechetical age and those seeking full communion with the Catholic Church are not merely “catching up” on formation, this workshop will assist us in understanding the adaptations of the RCIA for these seekers.  In addition, we will look at parish-tested models, sample catechetical sessions, and ways to prepare the liturgical rites to fully implement the vision of RCIA Adapted for Children in our parishes.  This workshop runs from 11:30AM-3:30PM.  Cost is $20 for registrations received by July 14 ^th and $25 for those received after that date.
 
Mass will be available on Saturday at 4:30PM or Sunday at 10AM for those who wish to celebrate before or after the workshop.
 
We are finalizing a small block of rooms at the Clarion Hotel Highlander in Iowa City for those who might wish to spend the night in Iowa City.  The Room Rate will by $79/night plus tax and as soon as we finalize that information, it will be posted on our website and you will then be able to reserve your room directly with the Clarion by July 2 ^nd.  Please watch the website for additional information.
