IOWA CITY — Escalating violence in Colombia forced Yirleny Rivera Castro, her husband and two daughters to flee their homeland. They survived the dangerous, grueling journey with hopes of receiving asylum in the U.S. and found refuge 10 months ago at the Iowa City Catholic Worker House.
Sunday, March 30 @ St. Ludmila in Cedar Rapids: The Iowa Catholic Youth Conference is for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders. Featuring Connor Flanagan, who is a nationally featured Catholic Hip-Hop Artist who performed at Seek 2022! This high-energy middle-school event is about engaging with the image of the Prodigal Son through small group breakouts and large group activities. The day begins with “hype-up” with Connor Flanagan and Holy Mass presided by Fr. Ken Glaser. Lunch is included.
